His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation Katara, inaugurated the 3rd edition of the Qatar International Festival of Arts, which is organized by Katara in cooperation with Maps international company, from 25 to 28 October, and the participation of more than 300 artists from 65 countries.
On this occasion, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti stressed that Katara is keen to support all cultural and artistic initiatives that are consistent with its cultural mission based on building relations between cultures and nations.
He pointed out that attaining the 3rd edition of the Qatar International Arts Festival, confirms the success of this festival and the confidence of artists of different nationalities, as it records more participation every year. He added that the importance of this festival not only lies on embodying an exhibition of art and creativity, but also represents a forum for artists from Qatar and various countries of the world to exchange experiences through their participation in several events and activities that will enhance opportunities for dialogue, communication, and exchange of ideas.
The festival includes 8 diverse artistic activities: 4 fine art exhibitions, painting and sculpture exhibition, live painting symposium, fashion show, master class, cultural talks, discussion session, Qatari cultural tour, and a cultural dinner night.
The festival also records a distinguished Qatari participation of the artists, Moudhi Al-Hajri, Haifa Al-Khuzaie, Duha Al-Kuwari, Sarah Al-Sayed, Sheikha Al-Thani, Lina Al-Aali, Sarah Al-Dosari, Ghada Al-Mahamid.
The festival timing is from 10 am to 10 pm, with the participation of more than 300 artists from over 65 countries. In addition to the presence of many ambassadors and the participation of the US Embassy, for the first time, in a fashion show represented by the international American fashion designer Nour Bishara and the presentation of several participating artists of fashion shows in relation to their paintings, and this will be at the courtyard located between buildings 16, 18 and 19 in Katara Cultural Village.
The audience will have a date with the artists participating in a free drawing from 10 am until 1 pm. In addition to prominent folkloric musical performances. The building will also host 15 cultural sessions of several artists.
The festival seeks to introduce participating artists, promote their work through, interact with invited collectors, art investors, potential buyers.
