Katara provides a well-served physical platform of built spaces, urban squares and vibrant alleys, art mural experience and open art plaza exhibits for people of the world to come together, share the wealth of their vibrant cultures and learn about culture and arts through art forums and exhibitions.People at Katara share their moments with others through talent development, gatherings, public events, attending lectures, participating in live performance art shows, youth film festivals, exhibitions selling craft products of local craftsmen, monthly auctions of local and international cultural collections, periodical festivals and markets such as Dhow festival and Horse and Sheep festivals, Farmer Market festival, and through walking, sitting, relaxing, enjoying the beach view, experiencing and viewing beach sports and eating…etc. The general character of Katara is subtle, vernacular and down to earth. This character is enriched through the fusion of eclectic styles coupled with local vernacular architecture, with one or two dominant elements in the skyline of Katara such as 21st Street with its dominant copper domes and the stone amphitheater, both of which can be recognized from a distance and create a clear definition of the skyline of it.
